I am a systems engineer with particular expertise in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineering. I often get asked what I do for a living and it is a struggle to explain in very simple terms what I do; my answer more often than ever is “I am the guy who ensures that your cellular phone does not interfere with your television” or “ I ensure that your car doesn’t take a life of its own when you drive pass a transmitter”. I am sure many of my colleagues would frown upon this simplicist view of my profession but many people get lost once you start with “Electromagnetic blah blah”.

This difficulty may well be what attracted my better half to me, after all Electromagnetic Compatibility does have a sexual feel to it.  “Excuse me sexy, I am Mister Electromagnetic and I would like to get compatible with you.....and you are?” 

So what is EMC Engineering? Through the links below I intend to explore this and cover as much on the topic as time and space would permit.  I will in due time provide my view of Systems Engineering, as this is my second passion
