EEG 808: Electronic Devices, Modelling and Circuit Simulation


EEG 808 Course Content


The principles, structure and characteristics of semiconductors; simple frequency models for transistors; small signal and wide band models for general non-reciprocal devices, hybrid pi and tee models for transistors; relationship of model to transistor physics.  Comparison of BJT and FET.  Macromodelling using Pspice, etc

I have provided a text book here at my expense to all students.  Please read it, understand it , try the questions and be prepared to discuss aspects of it.  This text book is used for two courses that I teach; for EEG Chapter 6 is the main reference chapter.

In this course we shall cover the following topics:

Antenna Fundamentals, Radiation mechanism, dipole, monopole , loop and small antennas. Antennas in reception, array antennas, broadband and frequency independent antenna, circularly polarised antennas, aperture antenna, antenna measurements,  transmission lines and wave guides.
